In Renaissance Florence, Marietta Strozzi (born 1448) was a model of beauty who inspired many artists and poets. Marietta is deprived of extravagant ornaments; her charm is left to the freshness of the smooth and pure skin, to the vivacity of the turning pose and to the spontaneous expression of the face.
