Viele Aspekte dieses Porträts erinnern an die Antike, angefangen von dem von antiken Medaillen inspirierten Profil bis zu der Frisur, die von Marmorbüsten der Kaiserinnen entlehnt ist. Es ist jedoch nicht bekannt, ob dieses Gesicht das Portrait einer Person ist, die im 15. Jh. in Florenz lebte oder ob das idealisierte Profil einer berühmten Frau der Vergangenheit ist.

Many aspects of this portrait recall Antiquity, from the profile pose taken from ancient medals to the hairstyle inspired by marble busts of empresses. Yet it is not known whether this face is a portrait of a person living in 15th-century Florence or if it was made at that time as an idealized profile of a famous woman of the past.
